DuoCircle Purchases Service that Simplifies Server Management

Commando.io is playfully referred to as “BedOps” because it helps system administrators avoid being woken up in the middle of the night to address server problems. Commando.io takes the server management tasks system administrators do all the time and turns them into recipes which are triggered by an alert. When a tool monitoring a server sends out an alert that something’s wrong, Commando.io intercepts the alert, identifies the appropriate recipe and runs it via SSH to resolve the problem. All of that happens without human intervention.
When asked why he bought the company, DuoCircle CEO Brad Slavin replied, “I loved Commando. I was a customer before I bought it. For me it was the last mile between detecting a problem and solving that problem automatically. I don’t need to wake up the on-call system administrator for 80% of the alerts, which means I cut down on 80% of my support labor expense while improving response times.”
Commando.io requires no agents and has no external dependencies, just native SSH. Commando.io can be operated by a GUI from a desktop or a mobile device. Commando.io includes a full activity and audit trail. Recipes can be written in Bash, Terraform, Perl, Python, Ruby, Go or Node.js. Servers can be automatically imported from AWS, DigitalOcean, Linode and Rackspace. Recipes can be triggered via API, GitHub integration, mobile app and CLI. Commando.io is priced on a per server basis.
