Outbound SMTP User Account Separation
Quick Answer
DuoCircle now supports separate SMTP user passwords per account in the Admin portal. Previously, granting a user outbound SMTP meant sharing the account login. Now SMTP usernames are isolated from the account username, so admins can create multiple SMTP users under one account, resetting an admin password no longer breaks SMTP clients, and individual SMTP credentials can be rotated without disrupting the rest of the account. New SMTP users can be created at the time a new outbound SMTP account is set up, or added to an existing account.
New Feature – Segregated SMTP User Accounts Passwords
Do you want each of your SMTP users (or customers) to have a different password in your account?
We have just rolled out this capability in the DuoCircle Admin portal, this update now isolates the SMTP username from the account username a big step forward in security for our users.
As a system admin, you no longer have to give out your account password just for a user to have outbound SMTP services.
- The benefit of having your account login separate from your SMTP password is the additional security to your SMTP user and if you reset your admin password, you won’ t have to update your email accounts.
- You no longer need to worry about re-setting your SMTP passwords on your mail clients when doing a password reset for your login.
- Create multiple smtp users in one account to simplify account management
New SMTP users can be created when establishing a new outbound SMTP account or added to an existing account that already has a defined SMTP service.
